SILVIA SPINNATO

Biography

Born in Palermo, Silvia Spinnato studied piano and composition at the conservatory „Bellini“. In 2005, she graduated in singing in Mantua. Moving shortly afterwards to Salzburg to continue her singing studies at the University Mozarteum under the authority of soprano Martha Sharp and the tenor Mario Diaz and to be trained as a choirmaster with maestro Karl Kamper. She graduated with honours in both disciplines. As orchestra conductor she studied with Peter Gülke at the Summer Masterclass 2013-2014-2015 (Salzburg). June 2015 she graduated with honours in Conducting with Hans Graf at the University Mozarteum. She studied with Paavo Järvi at the Summer Järvi Academy 2015.

She received, as a new talent conductor, the Bernhard Paumgartner medal of International Stiftung Mozarteum.

Silvia Spinnato was orchestra conductor’s assistant Prof. Wallnig for the oper production „Le nozze di Figaro“ and of Prof. Sahler for „Don Giovanni“ in Mozarteum. She conducted the Mozarteum University Orchestra, the Philharmonie Salzburg, the  Südböhmische Kammerphilharmonie Budweis, Bad Reichenhall Philharmonie, the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra and the Järvi Academy Youth Symphony Orchestra in Pärnu Music Festival.

As singer Silvia Spinnato specialized in the interpretation of contemporary music, she sang in Gasteig with Münchner Philharmoniker and the Conductor Dennis Russell Davies and she participated at the very important Festivals: TRT-Taschenopernfestival (Salzburg), Salzburger Biennale, Venice- Biennale, Aspekte Festival (Salzburg), Manca Festival (Nice) Osternfestival Tirol.

She directed the choir Musicacosì for the productions of the university Mozarteum working with the stage director Eike Gramss: „Die Zauberflöte“,  „Idomeneo“, „La Clemenza di Tito“, „Le nozze di Figaro“,  „Don Giovanni“ by Mozart, „Eugene Onegin“ by Tschaikovsky, Gluck's „Orfeo ed Euridice“, Donizetti's „L'elisir d'amore“, „Boheme“ by Puccini and „Carmen“ by Bizet

Studies
