Born in Madrid, he studied piano, accompaniment and musical pedagogy at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música in Madrid.
In 2007 and 2008, he graduated as a conductor under the authority of Professor Dennis R. Davies and as a choirmaster under the authority of Professor Karl Kamper at the university Mozarteum of Salzburg.
He take some masteclasses with, among others, maestros Sylvain Cambreling, Jesus López Cobos and Arturo Tamayo.
Carlos Chamorro worked as assistant of Dennis Russell Davies at the Teatro Real in Madrid in Philip Glass world premiere "The Perfect American" and as assistant of Sylvain Cambreling at the Teatro Real in Madrid in "Les Contes d'Hoffmann" and "Cosi fan tutte" regie M. Haneke
He is not unfamiliar with opera, having directed Mozart's The abduction from the Seraglio, The Magic Flute and Cosi fan tutte, Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice, Monteverdi's Incoronazionde di Popea and Puccini's La Bohême.
Among the more important symphonic pieces in his repertoire as a conducor, Beethoven's symphonies n°3 Eroica and n°6 Pastorale, Bruckner's symphonies n°1 and n°5, Holst's The Planets de Holst, Mendelssohn's A Summer Night's Dream and Italian Symphony, Stravinsky's Firebird and Petrushka.
He worked with international solists such as cellist Giovanni Sollima and the singers Anne Sofie von Otter, Wolfgang Holzmair,Barbara Bonney, Eric Cutler, Vito Priante, Measha Brueggergosman, Christopher Purves, David Pittsinger y Donald Kaasch.
Carlos Chamorro worked with the following orchestras : the Bruckner Orchestra of Linz, the Mozarteum Orchestra of Salzburg, the orchestra of the Verona Arena, the orchestra of the Verdi Theatre in Trieste, the orchestre of the Opera Royal de Wallonie of Liege, the OENM (Österreichisches Ensemble für Neue Musik), the choir of the Salzburg Landestheater, the Landeskapelle Eisenach and the Jóven Orquesta Nacional de España.
He recently assisted Denis Russell Davies with the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester.
He appeared at the Landestheater inEisenach, Teatro Sociale in Como, Teatro dell'Arcimboldi in Milan, Teatro Grande de Brescia, Teatro Ariosto in Reggio Emilia, Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna, Teatro Fabbri in Fermo, Teatro Sociale in Bergamo, at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona as well as at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège.
